Dear Karen,

If you're reading this, it means I actually worked up the courage to mail it, so good for me. You don't know me very well, but if you get me started, I have the tendency to go on and on about how hard the writing is for me. But this...this is the hardest thing I've ever had to write. There's no easy way to say this, so I'll just say it: I met someone. It was an accident. I wasn't looking for it. I wasn't on the make. It was a perfect storm. She said one thing, I said another. Next thing I knew, I wanted to spend the rest of my life in the middle of that conversation. Now there's this feeling in my gut that she might be the one. She's completely nuts in a way that makes me smile. Highly neurotic, a great deal of maintenance required. She is you, Karen. That's the good news. The bad is that I don't know how to be with you right now. That scares the shit out of me, because if I'm not with you right now I have this feeling we'll get lost out there. It's a big, bad world full of twists and turns and people have a way of blinking and missing the moment. A moment that could have changed everything. I don't know what's going on with us and I can't tell you why you should waste a leap of faith on the likes of me. But damn, you smell good, like home, and you make excellent coffee. Right Place, Right Time

The great moments of your life won't necessarily be the things you do, they'll also be the things that happen to you. Now, I'm not saying you can't take action to affect the outcome of your life, you have to take action, and you will. But never forget that on any day, you can step out the front door and your whole life can change forever. You see, the universe has a plan kids, and that plan is always in motion. A butterfly flaps its wings, and it starts to rain. It's a scary thought but it's also kind of wonderful. All these little parts of the machine constantly working, making sure that you end up exactly where you're supposed to be, exactly when you're supposed to be there. The right place at the right time.

Jim Parsons, uno de los pilares de TBBT

Jim Parsons es el actor que interpreta al personaje de Sheldon Cooper en la serie de gran éxito y popularidad The Big Bang Theory. Sheldon es el arquetipo exageradamente nerd, geek o lo que solíamos conocer como freak (no cabe duda que el lenguaje en estas liedes otorga ciertas dosis de creatividad) y uno de los pilares sobre los que se fundamenta este show que emite la CBS en Estados Unidos cada jueves en prime time. A veces con algunos actores es difícil distinguir a la persona del papel que interpretan en sus distintas apariciones a lo largo de su carrera y ciertamente Sheldon Cooper es ya un personaje inolvidable para todos los que seguimos TBBT. Aún así esperemos que no suceda como con otros actores cuyas trayectorias nunca han podido distanciarse de míticos papeles que otrora representaron y de los cuales nunca pudieron escapar.

How I Met "How I Met Your Mother"

Will, amigo desde la infancia y un auténtico gurú de las series, nos comentó un agradable día hace un par de años, cuando estábamos enganchadísimos a Prison Break, que viéramos la serie How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM). Ese día, hablo por mí, empecé una nueva aventura, casi otra vida.

Capítulos cortos y ágiles, estilo Friends, con un argumento muy claro y desarrollando todo tipo de historias entre el núcleo de amigos formado por Ted (el protagonista), Marshall y Lily (la pareja del grupo), Barney (el típico amigo mujeriego) y Robin (la bella amiga).

Sin entrar en detalles, la serie me conquistó desde el inicio. Supongo que me vi inevitablemente reflejado, de forma indirecta, en el protagonista, que le cuenta a sus hijos (un chico y una chica adolescentes) la verdadera historia de cómo el conoció a su madre. Recuerdo que solía comentar con algo de sarcasmo que conocería en la universidad a la futura madre de mis hijos, o que directamente iba allí para encontrarme con esa chica que me haría feliz el resto de mi vida.

Llevo How I Met Your Mother al día, y sobre todo en mi corazón. Son muchos los momentos agradables y el entretenimiento está asegurado pese a que en mi opinión algunos capítulos son bastante flojos en comparación con otros. No sé que le deparará el futuro a Ted ni al resto del grupo pero como diríamos en estos casos...todo es posible.

Y como ellos estamos nosotros: no sabemos que nos tiene reservado el porvenir pero sí que sabemos lo que nos hace pasar ratos muy a gusto. A mí, HIMYM, por ejemplo. Así que si estáis deseando ver algún material de calidad y atractivo, no dudéis en ver esta magnífica serie.
